WandaVision Concept Art Reveals Unused Scarlet Witch Costume Design


Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park reveals another unused costume design for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

With the first Disney+ original series from Marvel Studios Wanda Vision Recently celebrating the one-year anniversary of its series finale, Andy Park, concept artist and head of visual development at Marvel Studios, shared an unused design for Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) Scarlet Witch outfit.

Park shared the concept art in a post to Twitter today, March 10. “Can you believe the latest episode of Wanda Vision aired almost exactly a year ago?” he wrote. “Here’s an alternate version I came up with during pre-production. Note: I like the last version you saw in the series, the best of all the versions I’ve done, so I’m happy.”

The unused design carries the same overall aesthetic as the outfit Wanda debuted in. Wanda Visionthe ninth and final episode of “The Series Finale,” and was recently seen wearing promotional material for the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Plus, both outfits feature Wanda’s iconic headpiece from the original Marvel comics. However, the abandoned costume also features long sleeves (as opposed to the sleeveless look of the final costume), a cape, and noticeably different design details. Park previously revealed an alternate design for the final version of the costume with a more Red Riding Hood hooded cape.


Wanda Vision airing on Disney+ from January 15, 2021 to March 5, 2021 to kick off Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively. The series ends with Wanda officially adopting the Scarlet Witch moniker after discovering the true extent and origin of her powers.

Wanda Vision leads directly to the above Multiverse of Madness, in which Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will appear prominently opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. The film – which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer – is set to hit theaters on May 6.


Additionally, Agatha: House Harkness — a Wanda Vision spin-off series focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness – is currently in the works for Disney+. However, the show does not currently have a release window, and no casting information is available beyond Hahn’s reprisal as the title character. That said, production is expected to start in October.
