Two men arrested on suspicion of stealing building materials in El Paso County

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Two men have been arrested on charges of stealing building materials believed to have been taken from a property under construction in El Paso County.

Deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office at the Montana Patrol Station conducted a traffic stop on the 3800 block of Vista Del Este of a white 2014 Dodge Ram displaying Texas placards.

Investigators said the driver and passenger told MPs how they came into possession of the documents. Authorities further determined that the materials came from a property under construction in El Paso County.

EPSCO identified the driver as Adrian Valenzuela and the passenger as Pedro Perez.

Valenzuela was arrested on a criminal warrant for theft of property and has bail set at $ 15,000. In addition, a warrant out of county in the state of Colorado for theft with a bond set at $ 50,000.

Perez was arrested on a criminal mischief warrant for Socorro on bail set at $ 2,500.

Authorities said the driver and passenger were taken to the El Paso County Detention Center. The case is still under investigation and additional charges are expected.
