The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) provided updates on road works and construction projects this week:

Clinton County Update

A traffic light improvement project begins this week in downtown Lock Haven. Nine signposted intersections on Route 150 and one on Route 120 will see improvements under this project.

Work will begin at the intersection of Route 150 and Mill Street on Monday, October 4. The contractor will limit traffic to one lane for the duration of the work. These are daytime closures and the contractor will lift them at the end of each working day.

Improvements include upgrades to traffic light brackets, vehicle and pedestrian signal heads and controllers, installation of ADA-compliant ramps with detectable warning surfaces, curbs and sidewalks, paving, sidewalk markings and various constructions. PennDOT will post updates on the project as improvements begin at each traffic light intersection.

M&B Services LLC of Clarion, PA, is the contractor for this $ 2.7 million job. This project will continue through the 2022 construction season, with completion scheduled for September 2022.

Northumberland County Update

An electric utility project is planned this week along Route 147 near the Route 61 split in Sunbury.

On Thursday, October 7, contractor Henkels and McCoy will replace an aboveground electrical installation along Route 147 (South Front Street) in Sunbury. The work will be completed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The project is only expected to take one day with a rain date on Friday October 8th.

Southbound traffic can expect a lane restriction between Bainbridge and Slough streets. Motorists should be alert, slow down and exercise caution.

Union County Update

Lane restrictions will be in place on Route 45 between Route 15 and Eleventh Street in East Buffalo Township for road maintenance.

From Monday October 4 to Tuesday October 5, a PennDOT maintenance crew will perform repair work on Route 45. The work will be performed between 9 am and 2 pm. running.

Lane restrictions in the townships of Lewis and Buffalo

There will be lane restrictions this week on Interstate 80 eastbound between the Clinton County / Union County line (mile marker 194) and the Mile Run exit (mile mark 199) in Lewis and Buffalo Townships, Union County.

From Monday, October 4 through Thursday, November 11, the contractor will begin cutting down trees in the median of Interstate 80. Eastbound traffic can expect the left (passing) lane to be restricted where work is being done. The work will be carried out from Monday to Thursday between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm.

Columbia County Update

Lane restrictions will be in place on Route 487 between Lodge Road (Township Road 586) and Savage Hill Road (Township Road 810) in Orange Township for paving.

From Monday October 4 to Friday October 8, the contractor, Big Rock Paving, LLC., Will pave the area where the drainage has been replaced. The work will be carried out during daylight hours. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with signage.

Rylind Construction Company, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $ 860,000 drainage project.
