Learn more about the provincial update to vaccine passports and restrictions at recreation and culture centers.

For children under 8, the existing facility requirements remain in place; all visitors under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult or a person 16 years of age or older. This person will need to show proof of vaccination, a medical exemption or a negative test result. The requirements of the provincial restriction exemption program require that all persons over the age of 12 be vaccinated in order to access a facility.

For preschool and childcare participants, please contact the program manager for more information.

12. Do I need to be vaccinated to enter a municipal facility to vote in the next federal election?

The only City-owned polling station is the GH Dawe Community Center. Elections Canada has an exemption from the AHS allowing voters to enter polling stations without proof of vaccination. Masks will be mandatory with proof of medical exemption for anyone who cannot wear a mask.

13. With the restriction exemption program temporarily in place at the City’s recreational and cultural facilities, will I get a refund of my 2021 taxes or tax relief in 2022?

Programs, facility rentals and services offered at recreation facilities are available for a fee. If you are currently registered or have a reservation, you can contact us for a refund. Please contact [email protected] or 403-309-8411 to request a refund for programs and passes. E-mail [email protected] to request a refund for the rental of facilities.
