Heather Flood appointed Interim Dean of Woodbury School of Architecture | Woodbury University


The University of Woodbury is pleased to welcome Heather Flood as Interim Dean of the School of Architecture. After receiving nominations and an election organized by the faculty and staff of the School of Architecture, Heather was selected to lead the SOA as interim dean. This appointment follows the leave of absence of Ingalill Wahlroos-Ritter, FAIA as Dean of the School of Architecture.

Heather began teaching at Woodbury in 2015 and in 2017 was appointed undergraduate president of the School of Architecture in Los Angeles. In 2018, she led undergraduate and graduate programs before being promoted to full professor in 2020. Heather has lectured extensively and is the author of several publications. Additionally, Heather sits on the Board of Directors and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Architecture Education. As a professional and educational leader, Heather will continue to advance the School of Architecture.

Prior to Woodbury, Heather taught in design studios and visual studies seminars at SCI-Arc, as well as UCLA. She holds a Masters of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, where she graduated with Distinction and the Henry Adams Medal, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.

Heather’s appointment as interim dean is effective immediately.
