1st Graduation Ceremony at Nehru School of Architecture


Coimbatore – Housed in the Panditji Seminar Hall of the Nehru School of Architecture of the Nehru Group of Institutions, Kuniamuthur Campus located in the urban center of the city of Coimbatore.

The 1st Graduation Ceremony for the first and second batch of students graduating from Nehru School of Architecture was held on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Nehru School of Architecture, approved by Council of Architecture, New Delhi and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai & The Indian Institute of Architects has spent over 6 years transforming young people into creative professionals to face the future challenges of the construction industry. At 10:00 a.m., the Nehru School of Architecture campus was buzzing with great energy as the institution congratulated the academic winners of the 2015-2020 and 2016-2021 batches.

NSA students received undergraduate degrees from Anna University, Chennai. The convocation began with a majestic and grand academic procession led by the director followed by other dignitaries. The ceremony was officially opened by Dr. P. Krishnakumar, CEO and Secretary of the Nehru Group of Institutions. The College’s Annual Report was read by Dr. Amrutha, Director of the NSA, followed by addresses by the Principal Guest and Guest of Honour.

Tamilnadu State Planning Commission Member Professor Sultan Ahmed Ismail graced the occasion as the chief guest of the 1st graduation ceremony. The keynote speaker in his address said, “When you leave today with your degrees, you take knowledge with you. This knowledge is useless unless you try to connect the dots which will provide you with the necessary experience and with experience begets creativity. You won’t get very far in life based on what you already know. You’re going to get ahead in life because of what you’re going to learn after you leave here. Prof. V. Balakrishnaa, Principal Architect and Researcher, DIDRAITEEE, graced the occasion as the guest of honor at the ceremony. He expressed the importance of career choice in a student’s life and he quoted that “a doctor’s error is buried, but an architect’s error is displayed” and went on to tell the graduates the importance of creative designs, do-it-yourself ideas and original approaches during any architectural design.

The main guest up there presented the diploma to each student. After the distribution of the diplomas, the swearing in of the graduates was made. Finally, the graduation ceremony was dissolved, continued with it was the playing of the national anthem. The academic motorcade moved back in reverse order and the graduates followed at the back of the motorcade. The ceremony ended with a glimmer of hope and joy.
